What's in a Name?!

~There is this website www.urbandictionary.com that I love going to! It's a wesite where you can make a defintion for any word in the world, including names! I went on it tonight and checked out my name. This was the first one that came up and I think it fits me pretty nicely!
~Ayla is just one of those girls.. one of those girls who can make you laugh (even when you shouldn't), dance (even when you can't), be a little crazy (even when you're the shyest person in the world) and in all reality, just bring out the best in people.
~So check it out, find out what your name means! You could be shocked!!

Prom Weekend

Well, the weekend has been over for a few days now, but I'm still exhausted!!

At the State Choir Competition we ended up getting 2nd place!! We did amazing and so did The Blend (the guys group from BHS that went).

Here's a picture of all of us senior girls in Bel Canto and Mrs. Prather, the most amazing Choir director ever!!

The second part of my weekend started Saturday morning at 5:30! I got up and headed to the Church for The Andy Project. We left early and got downtown! I got to talking to one man named Roy (He looked mexican...). He asked me about my life and we got to talking about Africa. He was a sweetheart. Then there was this other guy there who looked just like Shane Claiborne. It's rediculious because everyone thought so too!! (FYI, he's an amazing author! Check out The Irresistable Revolution). Anyways, his name is Pier and he just got into Indianapolis. I hope to see them both the next time!!

Next was Prom!! Mikeala came over and did my hair then Alex came and picked me up. We went to Arbuckle and met up with Katie and Cameron, and Drew and Ashlee.

We took billions of pictures then went to Cameron's for dinner. The guys had made Salad, Pork, Potatos and so much more! Us girls made desert (brownies). Then we headed to Prom! It was amazing. We all danced the night away and it was so worth going with my best friend, Alex. Afterwards, we went back to Katie's, changed and the guys came over and we hung out until about 2:30am then the guys went back to Cameron's house.

Kings Island was the next day! Ashlee couldn't make it, but Lindsey came instead!! We had so much fun there! We went on their newest Rollercoaster, Diamond Back, and it was the most amazing ride ever!!

Long Weekend coming up!

So, we have a regular 2 day weekend, but it's going to be a long (fun) one!!

Tonight after school we have our choir state competition!!! We were the state winners last year and we are going back to try again :) We will see!! Jake Nobbe and Katie Strifler are in the other 2 choirs from our school also going to competition.

Saturday morning we have The Andy Project, and it's going to be exciting because we have the Kohls representatives coming in to help us. Then, because they come we get $500 from them for The Andy Project. Later Saturday night is PROM!!! I'm super excited! I'm going with Alex, Katie and Cameron are going together and Drew and Ashlee are going together. The guys are making us dinner, so they are probably going to poison us..haha just kidding!! But, then after prom, the girls are going to Katie's place.

Sunday the 6 of us are going to Kings Island!! I haven't been there for about 2 years so I'm pretty excited about that!!

It's going to be a great weekend! I'll get pics up next week when I'm back to my normal non-tired self!!

As you may have expected, I haven't had much time to blog since we have been in Arizona. It's been non-stop go go go. We haven't stopped eatting since we have got here...We have had 3 meals a day, usually going out to eat!

We got in late Friday night, so we crashed when we got to my Grandma's house. On Saturday we slept in and met J-gray and Katlyn at a mexican resturant. It was nice to see them again! We hadn't seen them since Poland this summer! We hung out with them the whole day. They took us to see their church, Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV). It's a huge facility, but it is beautiful! Alex and I were both amazed at how big it was! We went to one of the two Saturday night services. Then afterwards we ate dinner there at thier cafeteria (yupp, it has a cafeteria with amazing food). Afterwards, we met Gordo and his wife Bethany at a coffee shop where we drank coffee, played a game, and just socialized. My dad had told Gordo to give Alex a hard time about our "relationship", and of course he did.

On Sunday, Katlyn picked us up and we went on an adventure (we didn't go to Church cuz we had gone the night before)! We went out into the middle of no where and hiked around. It was a lot of fun! We ate at a little resturant/bar thing. It was in the middle of no where, but it was really really good!! That's when Alex and I decided that we wanted to go skydiving while we are out here! Afterwards, we went to CCV to meet up with Alex's parents. They are in town at a condo...and no, they are not spying on us!! We went to lunch with them, J-gray and Katlyn then went back to my grandma's house. Then we went to Organ Stop Pizza with my Aunt, Uncle and grandma! We spent a few hours there...the food was great and the entertainment was amazing :) This guy plays an organ and it is amazing how many different things he can play on it!

The next day, Monday, I went to my Grandma's church with her to play Skip Bo with her and some of her friends. Alex stayed behind to work on some of his editing that he needs to get done over Spring Break. After that, we went out to eat at In-N-Out Burger then went to the Rec Center. My grandma has a membership card for there, so we went Putt-Putt Golf and played a few rounds of Bowling, which Alex won every game! Then we walked around the lake, which was absolutly gorgeous! I wish we had something like that in Indiana. For dinner, Alex treated us all to Buca di Beppo!

Today, we met one of my teachers from my school in Kenya for Lunch. It was nice to see her again. I hadn't seen her for over 6 years now! Then we came back here to my Grandma's and watched a movie! Alex and I started to watch "Sydney White", and he sat and watched the whole thing with me. I'm impressed...most guys would roll their eyes at a chick flick and walk away. But, as he stated at the end, "Only good gentlemen would sit and watch a chick flick.." haha

Right now we are waiting for my Aunt and Uncle to call. We are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, and they were going to call when they were ready!

Sorry it's a long blog, but I haven't had the chance to blog since we got here!

4 Days!

Since spring break is coming up in 4 days, I decided to do some research about Arizona right now...aka See what the weather is like!

Last week, it got up to the 90's!! YAY for warm weather!! Early next week it will be in the high 80's, then as the week goes on, it will get down to the low 80's, but then go back up to the high 80's, and maybe even into the 90's!!

One thing that I'm super excited about is seeing my grandma, aunt and uncle!! I haven't seen them for almost a year now and it will be nice to see them again!!

Another thing is seeing the sunsets! I remember when we would come back into the USA to visit, I always loved seeing the sunsets in Arizona. There is something about the sunsets that made me feel calm and relaxed! I can't wait!

School today has been extra long! It seems like this week will go by so slowly!!!

It has been close to a month since I have posted! Time flies by so quickly!! Especially since it's senior year! Thankfully I get to get away for a week and just relax! Spring break is in 5 days and I really can't wait! Just thought I would let you know what's up right now! I will blog more!
